We’ve gotten all the food made and it’s ready for transport over to the clubhouse. Rich already said he’d load it and take it over before coming to get us. Now that we’re done cooking and baking enough food to feed an army, with the occasional taste test, I’m ready to see the nursery.

The girls follow me up the stairs and into the nursery. I stop dead in my tracks as soon as I enter the room. Painted on the wall opposite the door is the exact tree Patience had painted on the wall in the nursery at the other house. Instead of there being animals in the background, Rich has painted a silhouette of a biker sitting on his bike.

Tears fill my eyes and I take in the rest of the room. Painted where I plan on putting the crib is the club colors. He’s left room between the colors and motorcycle painted on the wall so I can put up the baby’s name. I know what I want it to be, but I still have to talk to Slim.

Rich walks in the room and sees the tears in my eyes and rolling down my cheeks. He immediately thinks something is wrong and starts to apologize. Holding my hand up to him, I take a deep breath before talking.

“You didn’t do anything wrong. This room is perfect. I was just shocked to see the tree on the wall,” I tell him. “Where did you see it?”

“On your phone. It’s the picture on the lock screen. Follow me,” he tells me, leading me into Kinsliegh’s room.

On the wall behind the changing table is the exact picture from my phone. Rich has given Kinsliegh a piece of her mother back and I couldn’t be happier in this moment. Tears once again fill my eyes and I can’t stop the shaking of my body as I take in every single detail he captured in the mural he painted.

“Thank you. You honestly have no idea what this means to me,” I tell him, throwing my arms around him in a hug.

“I do. I may not know all the details, but I’ve heard bits and pieces about Kinsliegh and what happened to her mother. It’s somethin’ I know all too well,” Rich tells me. “That’s a story for another day though.”

Walking away from me, Rich heads down to finish loading all the containers of food in the SUV. They need to be put in the refrigerator until we’re ready to put on the finishing touches in a few hours. I still need to get ready and make sure Kinsliegh is ready to go too. Gwen and Annabell will bring the kids back here when it starts to get dark and the real party begins.

For now, I’m going to spend some time with Kinsliegh and then I’ll get ready when Slim gets home. He can help with the baby while I get a shower and change for tonight. Then we’ll go over and party like we should to celebrate the two men being patched into the club.
